This policy explains what SmartScan collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with — written to match exactly what the app does, not a generic template.

| Name, email, phone | No | SmartScan has no account or sign-in | Not collected |
| Location | No | Not requested by the app | Not collected |
SmartScan is a document, QR code, and barcode scanning app. It uses your device's camera or photo library to capture images, then processes them locally to produce PDFs, extract text, generate or read codes, compress images, and similar document tasks — all described in the app's own tool list, so nothing here is a surprise once you've used it.
Camera and photo library. When you scan a document or pick an image, that image is read into the app to be cropped, enhanced, and converted. We do not upload the photo itself to any SmartScan server — there isn't one. Processing happens on your device.
Files you create. PDFs, compressed images, and extracted text you generate are saved in the app's own storage area on your device, so you can find them again in the Files tab. They are not transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly use the Share button, which hands the file to an app you choose (Mail, WhatsApp, Drive, etc.) — that's your action, not ours.
On-device recognition. Text extraction, QR reading, and barcode scanning run through Google's ML Kit, entirely on your device. No image or extracted text is sent to Google or to us for this purpose.
Advertising data. SmartScan shows banner, interstitial, and app-open ads through Google AdMob. Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier and related technical data (device model, general region, app usage signals) to select and measure ads. This is the only category of data that leaves your device through SmartScan.
We do not use your camera roll, scans, or extracted text for any purpose beyond what you asked the app to do in that moment.
The only third party SmartScan shares data with is Google, through the AdMob and ML Kit SDKs it's built on. ML Kit runs fully on-device and shares nothing externally. AdMob's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, for how ad personalization works, Google's Ads policy. We do not sell data, and we do not share your files, photos, or extracted text with anyone.
Scanned files live in SmartScan's local storage for as long as you keep them. Deleting a file inside the app removes it immediately. Uninstalling SmartScan removes all of its local data from your device, including every scan and setting — there is no server-side copy to separately delete, because none exists.
SmartScan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we'll address it.
Your scans stay in your device's app-private storage, protected by your device's own operating system sandboxing. No SmartScan account exists to be breached, because SmartScan never asks you to create one.
If SmartScan's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds cloud sync — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
